Puerto Rico MMIS Pre DDI Data Assessment Project

Jan 2016 – Aug 2016

The purpose of this project was to review the data sources required by the Puerto Rico Medicaid Management Information System (PRMMIS) that were captured and managed by the Puerto Rico Medicaid Program. This review aimed to identify any potential gaps that needed to be resolved before the DDI of the PRMMIS solution, which would be Puerto Rico’s first MMIS. Puerto Rico partnered with the State of Florida to leverage its MMIS solution, developed and operated by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). HPE would create a separate instance of this solution for implementation to support the Puerto Rico Medicaid Program.

MMISME’s responsibilities included providing MITA-related expertise and guidance to the project, assisting the Project Management Office (PMO) in developing project status reports for the Puerto Rico Department of Health (PRDoH), and helping prepare CMS biweekly status reports and presentations for the monthly PRDoH Steering Committee.
Additionally, we were responsible for documenting and tracking action items, risks, and decisions. We also provided technical writing services to assist in the development and finalization of the CMS-approved Implementation Advanced Planning Document (IAPD), which was necessary to secure federal funding for the Puerto Rico MMIS DDI project.
