As a member of the Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) Governance Board, Vivian de la Gándara has been actively involved in innovative projects aimed at advancing Medicaid IT systems. This board, an initiative led by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), plays a critical role in shaping the future of Medicaid IT systems, ensuring that they are adaptable, efficient, and aligned with the evolving needs of the Medicaid community.
The MITA Governance Board brings together key leaders from various sectors, including federal, state, and provider organizations, as well as the IT industry, to collaborate on enhancing the MITA framework. By serving on the board, Vivian will contribute her expertise to address business, technical, and information challenges in Medicaid systems.
The key responsibilities of the MITA Governance Board are: ensuring the MITA Framework evolves to meet the changing needs of Medicaid programs, fostering partnerships across the Medicaid community to maintain a comprehensive cross-stakeholder representation, and supporting the timely updates of MITA, ensuring that the framework remains aligned with Medicaid regulations and technology standards.
Through this role, Vivian will help guide the strategic direction of the MITA framework, facilitating improvements that support states in delivering quality healthcare to Medicaid members.
